En 1867, la famille Oland, dirigée par Susannah Oland, a brassé son premier « October Brown Ale » sur leur propriété à Dartmouth, Halifax. Aujourd'hui, Moosehead Breweries Limited est dirigée par Andrew Oland, arrière-arrière-petit-fils de Susannah.
