White Mulled Wine with Maple Syrup

Tip:

If you don't get cinnamon blossoms, you can also use cinnamon sticks. Crush the sticks a bit with the end of a knife so that the cinnamon flavor can develop better.

Ingredients

  • 750 ml white wine
  • 15 cinnamon flowers
  • 5 strips of orange peel, untreated
  • 5 strips of lemon peel, untreated
  • 140 - 200 ml maple syrup (depending on the desired sweetness)
  • 100 ml orange juice
  • ½ tsp speculoos spice (powder)

Preparation

  1. Heat the white wine together with the cinnamon blossoms, orange and lemon peel thoroughly in a large pot (do not boil), then let it steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Pour everything through a sieve into a second pot. Now add the desired amount of maple syrup (season if necessary and add more depending on taste), pour in the orange juice and season with speculoos seasoning. Heat everything again and enjoy hot.
