Bannock Bread

Ingredients

  • 460 g flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 45 ml oil
  • 250 ml cold water

Preparation

Mix flour, baking powder and oil in a bowl, add cold water and knead thoroughly. Form the dough into a ball and cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Flatten the dough ball in a cast iron pan and bake over an open fire until golden brown, about 15 minutes.

Cut the bread into pieces while still warm and serve with your favorite jam or a hearty spread.
